Description

Potential sources are sought to determine if adequate competition will be received for FY01 UMMCA PN 050927 Schofield Fire Station, Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. This project includes the construction of a standard design two company satellite fire station with stalls for housing apparatus (fire trucks and tankers), office storage, mechanical room, and dormitory space for two companies. This project will include required utility services, fire protection and alarm systems, curbs, walks, drainage, parking area, landscaping and site improvements. Air conditioning approximately 30 ton at all spaces with the exception of the apparatus bay. Project is not located on any identified flood plain. Two existing buildings, Building 494A, used for physical training, kitchen and dining, Building 489, used for the storage of wild terrain fire fighting vehicles, and a Storage Building will be demolished upon completion of the new facility. Lead paint abatement procedures will be employed in all demolition activities. Asbestos survey data for existing buildings is available. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. It is anticipated that this project will be solicited as a Design-Build unrestricted procurement. Solicitation to be issued on/about April 2001. Selection will be based on evaluation factors and price. Firms interested in this project should submit a letter of interest to U. S. Army Engineer District, Honolulu, Building 230, Attn: CEPOH-CT-C, Kurtis T. Kikkawa, Fort Shafter, Hawaii 96858-5440, no later than 9 March 2001. This is not a request for proposals. A separate synopsis will be published providing the cost of the solicitation and procedures on obtaining the solicitation.
