- Description
- The USCG ELC anticipates awarding a firm fixed price requirements type contract for the repair and maintenance of the MK 29 Mod 1 Gyrocompass and its components in accordance with ELC Specification R-400-299-F dated February 2000. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) is Litton Marine, 1070 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22906. The Coast Guard does not possess the detailed signal level default tracing and repair procedures to the component level on these electronics and mechanical subassemblies. Litton Marine is the only known repair facility that has the detailed component level test procedures, signal specification, clean room, equipment mock ups and test fixtures, testing, environmental controls, quality assurance and documentation necessary to repair and ensure the correct operation by performing a complete functional test. Therefore, it is the Goverment's intent to negotiate directly with Litton Marine. However, other organizations having the expertise and required capabilities are invited to submit complete information discussing their capabilities as follows: (i.e., component level and repair procedures, equipment mock up, test fixtures) 1) Show that they have satisfactorily repaired the gyrocompass or its components for the government or the OEM. Organizations having the capabilities and expertise required are invited to submit complete detailed information discussing their capabilities in dupicate within fifteen (15) days of this announcement. No cost or pricing date is required. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government does not intend to pay for the information solicited. Responses must be concise and be specifically directed to the requirement mentioned above. Concerns that respond to the notice must fully demonstrate their capabilities to meet the requirements. Adequate detailed data by which to evaluate capabilities should be sent to the attention of Jo Ann de Bullet, Contract Specialist. Number Note 12 and
