Description
This is a modification to a previous notice posted on January 31, 2001. All responses to this synopsis shall reference Solicitation No. 52-PAPT-1-01008. THERE IS NO WRITTEN SOLICITATION DOCUMENT AVAILABLE. THE SOLICITATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE VIA THE INTERNET (SEE WEBSITE INFORMATION BELOW). TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) seeks to make an award of an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to a single vendor to acquire a variety of state-of-the-art microcomputers, laptops, printers, supporting peripherals and components on the basis of a 100% small business set-aside under SIC Code 5045 (SAICS Code 42143). For this solicitation and any resulting contract, the USPTO has obtained a waiver of the Nonmanufacturer Rule from the Small Business Administration (SBA). As a result of this waiver, small businesses may offer the domestic products of a large business manufacturer. This contract will provide the resources needed to succeed USPTO's existing microcomputer contract, and shall consist of: microcomputers, laptops, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) devices, and peripheral equipment; responsive contract management operating system soft-ware, including software upgrades and updates; hardware and software manuals and publications (electronic format); ordering and delivery; warranty; and technology infusion and enhancements of obsolete or out-of-production items. USPTO anticipates this acquisition to be for a base period of one (1) year with four (4) additional one-year option periods. The minimum quantity will be one (1) microcomputer (including laptops) for the base year. Over the potential life of the contract a maximum quantity of approximately 30,000 microcomputers (including laptops) may be available for procurement by the USPTO. The competitive solicitation, solicitation amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the Internet at http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/ac/comp/proc/currproj.htm on or about March 8, 2001. Potential Offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resulting contract. POTENTIAL OFFERORS ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS ELECTRONICALLY VIA EMAIL TO: SMART@USPTO.GOV.
