Description

The intent of this contract is to secure services for the mechanical mastication of shrubs and small trees and to precommercially thin two plantations. Thinning shall consist of selecting leave trees and masticating all other trees and brush except designated trees. The project consists of 366 acres and is located on the Downieville Ranger District, along Marysville, Moonshine, and Old Toll Roads. Estimated solicitation issue date 03/26/01. Estimated start work date 05/01/01, contract time 100 days. Equipment shall be furnished on a fully operational basis, of modern design, and in good operating condition, with a competent fully qualified operator. The equipment shall be of a low ground pressure type, weight shall not exceed 16 tons gross, machine width maximum shall not exceed 10 feet, pivot operator cab, engine, with attachment arm able to swing 270 degrees while the working base remains stationary. Reach attachment arm shall have a minimum reach of 25 feet. The contractor will have purchase salvage rights to treated material.
