- Description
- The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set-aside an acquisition for Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) concerns only. The estimated magnitude of this construction project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 23499 and the small business size standard is $27.5 Million. The acquisition is to Rehab Pier D1 (North Phase), U. S. Coast Guard Group, Key West, FL. The scope of the project is to rehab the northern half of Pier D1 which is a 1220 foot X 135 foot unreinforced concrete pier. Work includes, but is not limited to, providing berths, utility shoreties, and support facilities for one 270 foot Coast Guard Cutter and three 110 foot patrol boats. Additive Bid Items are also included to provide berths/shorties for a fourth and fifth 110 ft patrol boats and also to provide parking area striping and parking bumpers. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail or facsimile to Mrs. Roberta H. Smith at rhsmith@fdcclant.uscg.mil or (757) 852-3495 (fax). In your response include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contacts and telephone numbers; and, (c) a positive statement of your remaining bonding capability. Your response is requested by March 9, 2001. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested HUBZone concerns. Failure to submit all information requested may result in a contractor not being considered as an interested HUBZone concern. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site.
