Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with TSI, Incorporated, Particle Instrument Division on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source, for the purchase of a TSI 3080N Electrostatic Classifier including 3080 controller platform (with 3077 aerosol neutralizer), 3085 nano DMA and 1035900 inlet impactor. TSI Electrostatic Classifiers are primary-standard instruments for producing monodisperse, submicrometer aerosols. In an aerosol generation system, the Electrostatic Classifier selects airborne particles of uniform size from a polydisperse source, resulting in a highly monodisperse aerosol. TSI's Nano DMA offers classification from 2 to 150 nanometers. TSI Incorporated is the only source of a nanometer sizing electrostatic classifier that offers classification from 2 to 150 nanometers that is compatible with NIST's existing classifier with classification from 10 to 1000 nanometers that is also manufactured by TSI. The delivery time for this requirement is 30 days after receipt of order and the delivery shall be FOB Destination to Gaithersburg, Maryland. The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price purchase order. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes by March 7, 2001. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) package is not available. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334516 with a size standard of 500 employees. However, this requirement is unrestricted. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
