Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command is seeking potential sources for portable floodlight sets capable of providing: Perimeter lighting for security purposes; illuminating large supply/storage areas and construction sites; and performing other missions related to military operations. The ability to utilize the product in both a trailer-mounted and skid-mounted configuration is essential. Products should be capable of continuous operations in conditions of environmental extreme and rough terrain in all configurations. Highly desirable product characteristics include: Use of a self-contained diesel power generator with 8-hours of operating capacity; 60-cycle power with synchronous alternator, a 24-volt starting system (or modified 12-volt); an extendable telescoping mast that does not affect product stability in the desired configurations; and an ability to generate 300,000 lumens from the primary system. Additional product requirements include: Remote light sets capable of generating 2,000 lumens each; cabling from the base to remote units; extendable tripod mounts with telescoping capability; auxiliary outlets; and, if necessary, the ability to incorporate a NATO Standard slave receptacle. The desired weight of the skid-mounted product is 1500 lbs, although this is subject to change. Another desired feature is the ability of the product to be configured for external helicopter lift, movement by forklift, and mountable on a M116 trailer. Firms possessing the capabilities to accomplish this requirement are invited to submit a statement of qualification, enclosing product literature, past performance information, current GSA schedule information and price schedules/catalogs. Responses to this RFI should be received no later than February 27, 2001. Submissions are for market research and all materials will be retained in confidence. Product information shall be submitted to the Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Contracts Directorate, Bldg 2033, Suite 315, Quantico, VA 22134-5010. FEDEX or UPS deliveries should send to Commander, Rob Celeste, CTQ 3RC, MARCORSYSCOM, 3041A McCawley Ave, Quantico VA 22134-5010. Any questions regarding the submission of materials should be addressed to Mr. Celeste at 703.784.5822 x244. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, NOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS.
