Description
NASA/Ames Research Center (ARC) plans to award this Purchase Order on a sole source basis to BARCO Projection System, Inc., under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c ) (1). NASA ARC has a need to acquire the following projection system: 1. The addressability of the Projector System must allow for an image of at least 2880 x 2160 pixels to be projected onto a screen 40" x 30" (at least 72 pixels/inch). 2. A focused image on a 40" x 30" screen must have a resolution of at least 72 dots/inch in both the vertical and horizontal positions in order to accurately resolve a 72 pixels/inch resolution image. 3. Projector System must provide a vertical refresh of at least 60Hz per eye in order to produce a stereoscopic display, at screen resolutions of 2880 x 2160 pixels. 4. The Projector System must be able to deliver a total of 550 ANSI lumens under normal operating conditions in order to provide adequate image clarity at the highest working resolutions. 5. Projector System must be modifiable with off-the-shelf components to focus on a front-projection screen from less than 72" distance. 6. The screen position on the Display Structure should be on top of the working volume and be as close as possible to having a 15 degree forward tilt off the horizontal. 7. The screen must be a front-projected screen in order to allow for a virtual environment working volume behind the screen. 8. Display Structure must provide a working volume for the virtual environment that is as close as possible to 24"x40"x30" to mimic the dimensions of the LSG. 9. Display Structure and Projector System together, must not exceed total width, depth and height of 60" x 96" x 96". 10. A single vendor must provide the engineered unit including both the Projector System and the Display Structure as well as any additional components for a seamless and timely delivery of a guaranteed product. 11. Vendor should be on the GSA schedule if possible. 12. Delivery time of the final product should be reasonable, not to exceed 6 months.
