Description

This is a sources sought synopsis. The 10th Air Base Wing, Operational Contracting Office, USAF Academy, CO, is seeking sources for a keyless lock/entry system. The system is to be used initially for only cadet dormitories on the installation, with the potential that more systems may be used Academy-wide in the future. Attachment 1 to this posting lists the required hardware and software capabilities desired. In addition, a vendor demonstration day is scheduled for Wednesday, 14 Mar 2001, 8:30-4:00, in the Arnold Hall Ballroom (Bldg 2302), located on the USAF Academy installation. Firms interested in attending the vendor demonstration day must RSVP to Steve Conver, Contract Specialist, at (719) 333-4899, or email address steve.conver@usafa.af.mil, by NLT 3:00 P.M. MST, 9 Mar 2001. Vendors wishing to participate in the demonstration day should be prepared to do a full demonstration of their product and bring at minimum: (1) a sample lock, (2) a disassembled lock, (3) information on software (software loaded on a laptop to demonstrate how it works with hardware), and (4) a list of referenced projects where their product is installed. HubZone, SDBs and woman-owned businesses are encouraged to respond to this posting. This request is for planning purposes only. The Air Force will not pay for any information received in response to this sources sought notice. Please note, it is expected that the Buy America Act will apply to any potential solicitation and acquisition of a keyless lock/entry system.
