- Description
- This is a sources sought synopsis for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice using the simplified acquisition procedures. The MILSATCOM Terminals Program Office is seeking a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) non-developmental item (NDI) Dual A/B Manual Data Switch and Cables as identified herein. The Dual A/B Manual Data Switch shall have a ganged rotary switch function, permitting manual selection of either of 2 data paths from each of two common connectors (that is, a DPDT type switching function with one control). All connectors (6) shall be type DB-25 Male with 4-40 female hardware for securing cables. For all interface connectors, pins 2 through 25 shall be switched, and pin 1 shall be common and tied to the chassis shield/ground. The switch shall be housed in a shielded metal enclosure for EMI/RFI shielding. As an objective to fit existing packaging spaces, nominal physical size shall be 3.5" H x 6" W x 6.3" D, or less. Weight shall be 3 pounds or less as an objective. Three cables identified herein may be procured separately or as a set. All cables shall be double shielded with foil (100%) and copper braid (85% coverage as an objective) for high EMI/RFI environments. All cable shall have stranded 26 AWG or 24 AWG lines, with overall PVC jacket. Connector hoods shall be molded (nonremoveable) EMI/RFI type, with 4-40 captivating thumbscrews for quick connect/disconnect. The following variations are required: (1.) DB-25 Female to DB-25 Female (25 conductors), nominal length 2 feet to 2.5 feet. (2.) DB-25 Female to DB-25 Female (25 conductors), nominal length 15 feet. (3.) DB-25 Female to DB-9 Female (9 conductors), nominal length 10 feet, with interconnections defined as an "AT Modem cable" identified as follows: (First digit is DB-9F Pin second digit is DB-25F Pin) 1,8; 2,3; 3,2; 4,20; 5,7; 6,6; 7,4; 8,5; 9,22; Shell -- Drain -- Shell 1. Quantities for all items shall be quoted in quantities of 55 and 66 as a minimum, or at standard quantity breakpoints. Delivery shall be 60 days after receipt of order. The contractor shall identify and make available to the Government all warranties associated with material delivered. The effective date for the warranties shall coincide with the date of government acceptance of the applicable item. The contractor shall be responsible for the shipment of items to the customer. Commercial packaging and marking of supplies shall be IAW best commercial practice. Respondents to this synopsis/solicitation should identify whether they are a large or small business and provide their company's name, address, telephone number, and a Point of Contact (POC). Any proprietary information submitted should be identified as such. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any cost associated with submission of the information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred to interested parties for responses to this synopsis.
