Description

This solicitation is for a Computerized Particle Size Analyzing System for the US Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, Caven Point Terminal, Jersey City, New Jersey. This system is needed for conducting grain size test of sediments from Federal Navigation Projects. This work will be done in our Laboratory Facility at the Caven Point Terminal, New Jersey Location. The specifications consist of the following below: 1. Light source: Regular incandescent light source. A system, which uses readily available bulbs, will help in lowering some maintenance cost. 2. Measuring range: Unit should be capable of measuring coarse particles above 2000 microns down to fine particles below 62 micron. 3. Measuring time: The system should have the ability to analyze a sample in approximately 3 minutes. 4. Power: System should run on standard 110 -- 115 volt power supply 5. Approximate Size: Unit should be 36 X 18 X 10 inches. This size will easily fit into the available lab counter space. 6. PC Controlled: A standard desktop PC should be capable to run the entire system. This solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposal. The NAICS CODE for this project is 334519 with a small business size standard of 500. This solicitation is set-aside for SMALL BUSINESS firms. The Government will award a contract resulting from the solicitation to the responsible offeror whose proposal conforms to the solicitation and is most advantageous to the Government. Offerors must submit their Representations and Certifications as part of their Request for Proposal.
