Description

PM Mortars has a requirement for LAP of 60mm XM720A1 and XM768 IM HE Ammunition and XM769 Practice Cartridges. The planned production contract includes a base year award for an approximate quantity of 51,500 60mm M720E1 Cartridges with an approximate quantity of 50,000 XM768 Cartridges and an approximate quantity of 11,000 XM769 Cartridges. There will be four evaluated priced options for HE and practice cartridges. Initial delivery is anticipated to be within 12 months from date of award for the base quantity. First delivery of option quantities is anticipated to be within 9 months after the date the option is exercised. The LAP effort will involve the assembly of the following Government Furnished Property (GFM): fuzes, shell bodies, fins, ignition cartridges, propoelling charges and PAX 21 explosive. Note: The Government will GFM the PAX 21 explosive only for the basic buy, the contractor shall provide the PAX 21 explosive for all options. The contractor shall provide all other material (to include packaging, obturating ring). Anticipated production rate is 10,000 per month. The HE LAP effort will include explosive handling (melt pour) into the GFM shell bodies. Required inspections will include radiographic evaluation of HE castings within the shell body in accordance with a continuous sampling plan. This procurement is restricted (approval in process) to U.S. and Canada sources, See Note 13. The solicitation will be available through http://procnet.pica.army.mil on or about 24 April 2001.
