- Description
- Solicitation is for contractor to perform required secondary road construction and reconstruction activity within the boundaries of the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS) near Aiken, SC. These activities include, but are not limited to, new road construction of native and graveled surfaced roads including the necessary clearing and grubbing of roadway; earth movement; borrow and gravel placement and drainage structures. Equipment rental is also included for other construction not delineated by typical road activities. The total length of time for base period is approximately July 1, 2001 thru September 30, 2002. Two option years will be from October 1, 2002 to September 30, 2003 and from October 1, 2003 to September 30, 2004. Primary estimated quantities for each year are 4 to 5 miles of road construction which includes 3,000 tons of crusher run gravel and 3,000 cubic yards of on-site borrow placement; 5,000 tons of resurfacing with crusher run gravel; and approximately 600 linear feet of culvert installation/replacement. Other activities are included in solicitation package. Resulting contract will be an indefinite quantities contract. SRS is a restricted access Government facility. Non U.S. citizens will be required to get prior approval before coming on the Site which could require as long as 30 days.
