Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Lakehurst, NJ intends to enter into sole source negotiations with Palomar Products, Inc., Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, to procure the following: Crew Display Units, P/N 1161220-110, Qty. 51; Crew Station Units, P/N 1161220-110, Qty 21; Emergency Audio Panel, P/N 1161290-100, Qty, 11; Secure J-Box, P/N 1169340-100, Qty 122; and Non-Recurring Engineering Effort in support of the P-3 Aircraft Program. These components are part of the AN/AIC-34 Intercommunications System (ICS). As the designer, developer and original equipment manufacturer of the AN/AIC-34 System, Palomar Products is the only know source capable of producing these systems. The Government does not own the data, drawings, or technical specifications necessary to produce these systems/components or to conduct a full and open procurement. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may or may not be used by the Government in determining whether or not to open this requirement to competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government (See Note 22).
