Description
UNICOR intends to enter into a one base year with four option years if exercised firm fixed price indefinite delivery indefinite quantity type contract for expanded metal. The solicitation number is FN1039 and this solicitation is issued as an Request For Proposal (RFP). The following are the specifications: Expanded steel " 20 gage, flattened bonded edges, various lengths and widths. General: Must have light oil to no oil. Diamonds to be free from burrs and rough edges. Material: 20 gauge rolled steel, drawing quality, ANSI 1008, B55 Max Rockwell. Pattern: Short Way diamond 0.530 (+/- .060) inch, Long Way Diamond 1.200 (+/- .060)inch, Strand Thickness 0.070 (+/- .003) inch, Thickness 0.030 (+/- .003) inch, Weight/SQ Feet 0.345 (+/0 .015) pounds. Level: Must be level within 3/8 inch when placed on a flat surface, same tolerance applies when turned over. No oil canning is acceptable. Tolerance: Long Way Dimension (+/- .12"), Short Way Dimension (+/- .25"). Bond Edge: All four sides must have bond edge(closed diamonds). Squareness: Must fall within the zone defined by the length and width tolerances. Additional specifications and estimated quantities will be available in solicitation document. Unit of measure is each. There are 72 line items and they will listed in the solicitation document. The guaranteed minimum amount for this requirement is $100,000 over the life of the contract. Items are to be delivered FOB Destination FCI Schuylkill, Minersville, PA. Delivery is 30 days after receipt of each delivery order. This is a full and open competitive Request for Proposal for expanded metal. Offerors are advised that the Government intends to evaluate offers and award on an all or none basis. Offerors shall submit signed and dated offers to UNICOR, Material Management Branch, 320 First Street NW, 400 Building, 7th Floor, Washington, DC 20534, ATTN: Bid Custodian. This information shall be displayed on the outside of the envelope with the solicitation number and offer closing date. Fax proposals are accepted at 202-305-7363, Attn: Bid Custodian, the fax cover sheet shall reference the solicitation number and offer closing date. All offerors must acknowledgment all amendments. Offers received after the exact time and date specified will not be considered. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer represent the best value to the government. The following factors shall be used to evaluate proposals: past performance, price and quality. A written notice of award or acceptance of an offer will be mailed or otherwise furnished to the successful offeror within the time for acceptance specified in the offer, shall result in a binding contract without further action by either party. The solicitation will be available on UNICOR's website at www.unicor.gov/procurement/profurniture.htm on or about March 28, 2001. No copies of the solicitation will be mailed. All responsible offerors may submit an offer which will be considered.
