Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) seeks sources within industry for oil/water separators (OWS) to process oily waste, bilge water aboard U.S. Navy surface combatants. The system shall have, as a minimum, the following characteristics: (1) ability to process bilge water with an oil content that varies between <15 ppm(v) oil-in-water to bulk-oil; (2) flow rate of 25 gal/min or greater; and, (3) produce an effluent quality containing less than 100 ppm(v) oil content, with a target effluent quality of 15 ppm(v) or less. Multiple treatment stages are acceptable but not required. In addition, the flow rate capability, normal operating and maximum permissable pressures, physical size, total dry and wet weights, power consumption, additional utilities required (e.g. potable water, pressurized air, electricity), operational and maintenance manhour requirements, current application of the system and cost of the OWS must be provided. A summary of agents/contaminants that could potentially interfere with the operation and performance of the OWS is also required.
