Description

The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), Miami, Florida, intends to procure a mobile horse ramp. Submit faxed quotations to "Purchasing Section," at (612) 370-2136. QUOTATIONS ARE DUE APRIL 11, 2001, BY 10:00 a.m. local time. Simplified procurement procedures will be used as well as commercial item acquisition regulations per FAR 12. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses which are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-21. Price must be F.O.B. Destination. SPECIFICATIONS: Mobile horse ramp must have wheels and must have an adjustable hydraulic lift at each end of the ramp which will enable the ramp to go from 30" -- 50" at the end abutting the truck for unloading; and adjustable at the airplane end of the ramp to fit the height of a DC8 or 727 airplane ( 100 to 140 inches). The ramp must have a door or gate at the truck end of the ramp, 6 feet high and 45-1/2 inches wide. Inside width of the ramp must be 45". Total lengh of ramp must be 60 feet. The sides of the ramp must be 6'6" from the floor of the ramp. The ramp floor must be made of a non-skid galvanized material and have slip cleats every 32 inches. There must be a walkway on the outside of the ramp for an animal handler to walk and move animals along. Contractor must be able to provide service and repair to the ramp.
