Description

The Walla Walla District Corps of Engineers intends to award a sole source contract in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, to Philadelphia Gear Corporation. Subject contract will be to fabricate one set of gears for a right angle, spiral bevel, helical gear reducer model No. 3500-25 SBVHX . The contract will also include the refurbishment of one 3500-25 SBVHX gear reducer which will include replacing gears, bearings, shafts and seals. There will be optional work in this contract to buy two more gear sets and to refurbish two more gear reducers of the same kind over a period of three years. The gear reducer horsepower is 535, with 690 RPM input and 80 RPM output. Ratio is 8.63:1 and service factor is 1.75. Each gear reducer weights approximately 20,000 lb. plus about 4,000 lb. for the low speed shaft. The above gear reducers operate the adult fish attraction water pumps at Lower Monumental Dam, Snake River, Washington. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received in response to this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The size standard for small business concerns under NAICS code 333612 is 500 employees.
