- Description
- Stone & Webster Inc. under its USACE contract, DACW41-99-D-9001, T.O 0002, the Maywood FUSRAP Project, is soliciting proposals for subcontract work to provide for the transportation and disposal of waste soils as well as provision of supporting management services. The contemplated fixed unit rate Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contracts will have an estimated joint total acquisition value NTE $90M with performance over a seven-year period. Multiple and split awards are possible. The waste soils have primary radioactive contaminants of Thorium-232 with its decay products, the Uranium-238 decay chain and Radium-226. The estimated 470,000 tons (bulked disposal volume) of waste soil will fall under one of the following types: regulated 11 e (2) waste or Pre-UMTRCA mill tailings waste. For transportation purposes the waste soils will be either Class 7 -- UN2912, Class 9 -- UN3077, or DOT non-regulated. Shipment will be by either rail gondola or truck and rail intermodel container. There are rail and road connections to the Maywood site. Management services includes, but is not limited to: responsibility for safety and regulatory compliance; coordination of T&D team members, labor, equipment and materials; scheduling support activities with the project; resolve all T&D discrepancies; provide on-site representative in support of the T&D activities. SIC #8744/NAICS #562910 applies to this procurement. This effort is a small business set-aside. All respondents are to identify if they are a SB/SDB/WOSB. The Request for Proposal will be available not later than April 25, 2001. Interested offerors will be required to access the Request for Proposal, scope of work, drawings, and other selected documents via the Internet at www.fusrapmaywood.com. Commercial issues are to be directed to Ms. Janice Bender at (617)589-2272. Pre-bid meeting and site walk is tentatively scheduled for 1:00 PM EST, on May 8, 2001. Proposal submissions are due not later than the close of business, June 01, 2001. Selection(s) will be made on a "Best Value" basis, whereby all factors are evaluated by the Source Selection Evaluation Board. Selection(s) will be made in August 2001 and task order releases will begin in FY2002.
