Description

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) is soliciting accounting and/or auditing services firms to provide professional accounting services to the PBGC for premium income and account receivable determinations, pension plan account analysis, collections program support, analysis and resolution of suspended premium filings, identification and analysis of data quality issues and review of internal controls. This contract requires substantial knowledge of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), as amended, 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), related provisions of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), professional accounting and auditing standards as promulgated by the FASB, and applicable GAO and OMB circulars, regulations and requirements as they apply to the PBGC. The contractor must be a Certified Public Accounting firm or partnership of Certified Public Accountants, with a minimum of three (3) years experience in providing public accounting, government accounting, and/or management advisory (consulting) services, and the determination of auditable accounts receivable balances of greater than $20,000,000, to include developing reserve estimates for uncollectible accounts. Th period of performance for the base contract will be from October 1, 2001 through September 30, 2002 with four one-year options for renewal at PBGC's discretion. The solicitation document will be distributed through the FedBizOpps.gov web site OR IN HARD COPY BY WRITTEN REQUEST. The site contains downloading insturctions. All information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed through the FedBizOpps site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the site to assure that they have the most up to date information about this acquisition. The solicitation is not currently available, but is estimated to be available on or about April 10, 2001.
