Description

PROJECT SCOPE: Fabrication and installation of a 10 meter by 10 meter timber frame float. The float shall be designed with a treated timber frame, supported by a series of sealed polyethylene flotation drums or pontoons filled with polystyrene or urethane foam, two internal pile hoop fabrications, and a treated timber deck as shown on the drawings provided in the solicitation package. PROJECT LOCATION: The site is located in Southeast Alaska, at the site of the existing Rowan Bay Camp administrative access float, adjacent to the Rowan Bay Log Transfer Facility and Logging Camp. The Rowan Bay Camp and Log Transfer Facility is located on the northern shore of Rowan Bay on the west side of Kuiu Island, approximately 86 air kilometers west of Petersburg, Alaska. The project site is accessible by float plane or boat from Petersburg or Sitka. ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE: is between $25,000 and $100,000. 100% Small business set aside. Commercial, supply acquisition. Estimated start work date is May 21, 2001. Contract time will be approximately 135 calendar days.
