- Description
- The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) intends to negotiate a modification to an existing contract, No. BBGCON3600C5109, with Astro Systems, Inc., 7979 Old Georgetown Road, Suite 1100, Bethesda, Maryland 20814-2400. This non-competitive modification will include affiliate broadcast stations in the Africa (AF), Western Europe (WEU), Near East Asia (NEA) and East Europe (EEN) regions. The Contractor shall provide preventive and corrective maintenance services on Television Receive Only (TVRO) antennas and ancillary equipment. This proposed action is being made to Astro Systems, Inc., under the authority of FAR Subpart 6.302-1, 10 USC 2304(d)(1)(b), which permits other than full and open competition when it is likely that award to any other source would result in "(B) unacceptable delays in fulfilling the Agency's requirements." The existing competitively bid contract was awarded to Astro Systems, Inc., on Sept. 1, 2000 for maintenance services of IBB earth station equipment at U.S. Embassies and posts in the AF, WEU, NEA and EEN regions. The Contractor has a staff of trained technicians who are knowledgeable and experienced in performing the repair and maintenance of this equipment. Interested firms may submit their written statement of interest, which shall contain a brief written summary of their specialized technical qualifications and experience to Ms. Barbara Sesky, by facsimile at (202) 260-0855 and received not later than 3:00 p.m., EDT, April 26, 2001. Oral expressions of interest will not be accepted. Any questions related to this proposed action shall be in writing to the attention of the Contracting Officer. All written expressions of interest shall specifically reference this CBD Notice by its title and date of publication. This CBD Notice is not a RFQ, RFP, or an IFB.
