Description

Pending the availability of funds, the Health Care Financing Administration currently has a requirement for a contractor to provide communication and assessment services that are culturally and linguisticaly competent to assist the Asian American /Pacific Islander populations in their understanding of the Medicare Program. Through this proposed contract, HCFA strives to: 1) provide AAPI with culturally and linguistically appropriate information, and 2) improve AAPI access to healthcare and HCFA program information, especially to those AAPI facing the greatest barriers to access. HCFA seeks to accomplish these goals by working through a contractor having significant experience in several areas: communicating with diverse AAPI communities and groups (including translating, adapting and testing informational materials to ensure cultural/linguistic appropriateness), working with community-based organizations, conducting formative social marketing research, and identifying the demographic, cultural and linguistic characteristics of AAPI populations, relative to effectively communicating HCFA program information. Offerors are advised to register for this solicitation thru FedBizOpps @ www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation is expected to be posted for release on or about April 17, 2001. This competition is set-aside to only those companies currently certified under SBAs 8(a) program under NAICS Code 541930 TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION SERVICES.
