Description

The contract work consists of the construction of a new 260-foot long by approximately 5-foot high reinforced concrete floodwall with watertight flood doors, steel fence and gates, and concrete stairs with railings, and removing and replacing approximately 270 lineal feet of existing steel bulkhead cap with a new 2.5-foot high reinforced concrete cap with railing at Delaware City, DE. Other work consists of removing an existing chain-link fence, excavating the area between the existing bulkhead and adjacent street and backfilling with lightweight fill on geotextile, replacing existing pile caps with new PVC pile caps, painting, removing the existing electrical service and providing new underground electrical service with dockside power stations and a potable waterline at each station. Solicitation documents will be furnished on CD-ROM on or about 30 April 2001; hard copies will not be available. Contractors may view and/or download this solicitation and all amendments from the Internet at the following address: https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil on or after issue date of the solicitation; however, the official media of distribution for this solicitation is the "CD-ROM". One copy of the CD-ROM will be furnished to each bidder at no charge. Requests for a CD-ROM must be made by registering on the Internet. No written or fax requests shall be accepted. If any information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause a delay in receiving the solicitation and amendments. Bidders are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation. Bids will be opened on or about May 30, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Completion time for this project is 120 calendar days. This procurement is unrestricted. The NAICS Code is 23571 with a size standard of $11.5 million dollars. The estimated range of the project is $250,000.00 to $500,000.00 and bonding is required.
