Description
Synopsis: Sealed bids from all business concerns will be accepted for Project PRA-DRTO 1(1). The project is located on Garden Key in Monroe County, Florida and consists of the rehabilitation of a bridge and 3 docks within the Dry Tortugas National Park. The work consists of rehabilitation of the existing timber bridge deck into Fort Jefferson, and rehabilitation and/or reconstruction of the existing boathouse dock deck, the existing loading dock deck and piers, and the existing finger piers. The work includes removal of the existing timber deck on the finger piers, boathouse dock, and bridge, and removing the existing concrete deck from the loading dock, disposing of all material offsite, and constructing new timber decking. The work also includes concrete pile encapsulation, removal and replacement of existing fender and dolphin piles, and placement of new fender and dolphin piles, and other miscellaneous work. The site is geographically remote, located west of Key West. There is no access to the site by road and no electric, water, or sewer is available onsite. The selected contractor must be able to provide transportation, support, and housing for workers for the duration of the project and be able conduct construction operations staged to limit impacts to visitors. The project is expected to fall within the price range of $250,000 to $500,000. Bid documents are scheduled to be issued on May 2, 2001. Bids will be due 30 days after the issue date. DOT's Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum line of credit is $500,000 with interest at the prime rate.
