Description

Solicitation N00421-01-Q-0291 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis and to solicit and negotiate the proposed purchase order on a sole source basis with Carlo Gavazzi Inc., 10 Mupac Drive, Brockton, MA 02301 on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. Carlo Gavzzi is uniquely qualified to provide the 709 Series Vertical Rugged Enclosure. The required VME Chassis will be installed into the OL-541A/TPX-42A(V) equipment rack which is being procured from Telephonics Corporation. The Navy approved Telephonics design which requires the 709 Series Vertical Rugged Enclosure made by Carlo Gavzzi and it is the only system that will meet existing requirements for shipboard shock, vibration, electro-magnetic interference and environmental conditions. The contract line item number and description is: CLIN 0001 4 each of P/N 7090SLK18EC-XXX 709 Series Rugged Enclosure. Award is expected 18 May 2001. The NAICS Code is 332322 with 500 employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all proposals received by 4 May 2001 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received.
