Description

The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area, has a project entitled Machine Shed Addition at the North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station, Ames, IA, The work includes but is not limited to: furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work for a new 50' X 75' X 16' eave height pre-engineered metal building, with concrete foundation, addition to an existing metal building. The metal building will contain two seed drying rooms, each containing six individual seed drying compartments and a temperature and humidity controlled seed storage space. Each seed drying room to be fed by a single indirect fired gas heater and blower. Extension of an existing dry pipe sprinkler system into the new metal building addition. Replacing the existing distribution panel and conductors back to a central service entrance. Addition of a new sub-panel to feed the new metal building addition power requirement. The Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $100,000 to $250,000. The period of performance will be 120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP) (NTP estimated to be issued July 2001). A Bid Bond as well as Performance and Payment Bonds shall be required. The solicitation will be issued as Request for Proposal No. 5114-1-0001 and will be available on or about May 7, 2001, with proposals to be received not later than 2:00 p.m. (CST), June 6, 2001. The solicitation is issued pursuant to full and open competition and is unrestricted. National American Industrial Classification Code of 233310, with a corresponding size standard of $27.5 M.
