Description

NASA/JSC plans to issue a RFQ/ Request for Offers for refurbishment of eight (8) Blast doors located in the 300 and 400 areas of White Sands Test Facility (WSTF). The refurbishment will require door removal, removal of all old paint and rust, repair of rusted areas and other damage, cleaning, priming, repainting, repair or replacement of all hinges, latches and door hardware, replacement of the door seals and sweeps, reinstallation, adjustment, and final inspection. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $100,000 to $250,000 and the effort shall be completed within 90 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 23599 and $11.5M, respectively. The selection and award of this requirement will be based upon overall Best Value to the Government, with consideration given to the factors of proposed technical merit, price, and past performance. The specific value characteristics will be listed in the subject RFQ. The anticipated release date of the RFQ/RFO is on or about May 03, 2001 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about June 06, 2001 The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFQ. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will only be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
