Description
The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Product Manager Small Arms (PMSA), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, intends to procure Shooter's Stock Pack from Eagle Industries under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This stock pack is to be used with the M24 Sniper Weapon and shall be attached to the buttstock of the rifle and will conceal/store/protect items like the PVS-10 reticle adjustment turret covers, electro-optic batteries, as well as miscellaneous small tools, windmeter, etc. Storage of ammunition shall be optional. The stock pack shall contain a synthetic leather surface on the "strong" side of the buttstock for shooter comfort. This shooter's stock pack shall feature a zipper for opening and closing of the pouch, and shall allow for long action bolt travel and potential stock product improvements to include adjustable comb and length of pull. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302 and to acquire a commercial item using FAR part 12. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. All proposals received by the close of business 30 days after publication of notice will be considered by the Government. Responses received after the above date or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit a response under this synopsis. Acquisition Streamlining Procedures will include posting the RFQ on the TACOM-ARDEC Acquisition Center website located at http://procnet.pica.army.mil on May 1, 2001. This acquisition will be processed 100% electronically. Paper copies of the solicitation shall not be provided and no paper submissions will be accepted.
