Description

The United States Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Specialized Contracting Service Center is seeking vendors as sources for future information technology initiatives. The purpose of this source sought notice is to identify vendors that have performed similar work for other clients. USDA, Agricultural Marketing Services (AMS) performs inspection and grading services that ensure that commodity standards for quality, weight, and other factors are met. As in most corporate structures, the core of the business practice is supported by time and attendance data and associated business fees. This accounting data must then be coupled with the business need of the organization. AMS is interested in learning about corporate experience in developing 'comparable' systems that enable the user to enter time and attendance data, business expenses, grading/inspection data and/or certificate results. This data must then have the ability to be transferrable a billing system. Managers must have ability to generate reports from the data, perform trend analysis and make managerial decisions. Most of the AMS inspections are performed in rural areas that are challenged from varying degrees of climatic conditions and rugged handling. AMS is only interested in contractors that have developed systems that are comparable NOT identical in scope. If there are vendors that can satisfy this search, please provide the following information by May 2, 2001: (1) Company Capability Statement; (2) Company contact, telephone number, and internet address; (3) A list of available contracting vehicle(s) or schedules for federal wide purchases.
