Description

The specification defines the necessary services, labor, material, equipment and control components required to provide, install, test and make operable a Local Delivery Freight Terminal Conveyor System. The system shall be installed in Bldg. Y-109 at the Defense Depot, located at the Norfolk Naval Base, Virginia. The function of the system is to receive local delivery and transshipment material, consolidate this material until the ship calls for the material, then issue the material to the piers where the ships are located. Local delivery material is picked, packed and transported from the outlying warehouse to the transporter dock induction systems in Bay A-1. Also the system will receive transshipments (receipts from other DLA depots that supply the ships) via transporter dock from W-135 (Bulk Receiving).
