- Description
- NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Innova 308 Laser with UV and Vis Capability to include I308C 8 watt Argon Ion Laser; 333.6-363.8NM UV ML OPT INNOVA;351.1NM UV SL Option I308; laserpure 40 hear EXHG 60 HZ; halfwave plate rotary mounts capable of holding 2 inches mounted halfwave plates, must provide fine angular adjustment, must be able to rotate a full 360 degrees, must have a graduated scale with 2 degree increments, must provide smooth rotation with zero back-last, and must include a mounting post;and mounting post and base set must interface with rotary mounts as specified in this request and be able to be locked down to a standard optical breadboard. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the item from Coherent Laser Group, of Santa Clara, CA, under the authority of a Recommendation and Determinatin to Solicit From One Source (RDSS). Coherent produces the only intracavity stabilized beam that uses a feedback control, to compensate for thermally produced changes int he cavity geometry to adjust the beam position in the laser tube, thus optimizing power output. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 05/21/01. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.
