- Description
- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures with Molecular Devices Corporation, 1311 Orleans Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 for the acquisition of a Lmax Luminometer and a SPECTRAmax PLUS 384 Microplate Spectrophotometer. The systems has design features that are specific & unique to Molecular Devices Corporation. In order to meet the requirements of our laboratory, the Lmax Luminometer Microplate System & SPECTRAmax Plus 384 Spectrophotometer System must have all of the technical specifications shown below: Clin #1, Lmax Luminometer Microplate System:(1)Windows PC or Macintosh based control and data handling software design for the measurement of chemi- and bio-luminescence;(2)Combines the sensitivity, dynamic range, and sample throughput of a dedicated 96/384-well microplate luminometer with the powerful and easy-to-use Softmax Pro for Lmax software. The software Pro for Lmax controls the instrument, data collection, and data reduction;(3) Jet injector technology provided virtually instantaneous mixing and improved flash kinetic data;(4)Ultra-fast photon counting technology for reduced noise and elimination of the need to calibrate throughout the linear range;(5) Dual zone heating with one heating element in direct contact with the microplate and the other heating element located in the counting chamber -- prevents temperature gradient build-up and condensation of the sample;(6)Rectangular set of wells from 1 to 96 or 384 may read. Clin #2, SPECTRAmax Plus 384 Spectrophotometer System,(1)Tunable wavelength range of 190 to 1000 nm:(2)Continuous wavelength selection with a bandwidth of 2 nm:(3) Can read standard, commercially-available cuvettes and microcuvettes, 12 x 75 nm test tubes, and 96- or 384-microplates on one instrument:(4) In Speed Read Mode, reads 96 Wells in 5 seconds and 384 wells in 16 seconds;(5)Incorporates Pathcheck sensor;(6)Multichannel optical design of 9 samples and 9 reference detectors;(7)SOFTmax PRO Microplate Analysis Software;(8) Provided automatic validation with the SPECTRAtest validation plate. The EPA has identified Molecular Devices Corporation the only firm with the required technical specifications i.e. FAR 6.302-1 "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy Agency requirements". Interested parties who can meet the above requirements may submit written qualification statements, fully explaining their capability no later than 15 days after the date of this publication. Submit response to the U.S. EPA, Attn: Pamela E. Smith (MD-33), Contracts Management Division, Research Triangle Park, NC 27711. No telephonic or faxed request will be honored.
