Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to purchase the following item on a Sole Source Basis from the manufacturer, Sabtech Industries, 23231 La Palma Ave, Yorba Linda CA 92887 -- (CLIN 0001 -- P/N SC-40000-22, Sabtech Military Equipment Simulator (SMILES) system -- 1 each). Item will include the manufacturer's standard warranty. The SMILES system will be used to emulate Militarized shipboard systems including OL-267 Operator Control Devices, RD-358 tape drives and USH-26 tape drives. This system will be used at the AEGIS Computer Center to support the AEGIS computer program lifecycle mission. The AEGIS Computer Center, the AEGIS Training and Readiness Center and the Surface Combat Systems Center already have Sabtech interface cards in place. The SMILES systems will utilize the same interface cards to work with the various tactical switching systems. A Sole Source procurement is necessary to maintain compatibility (equipment and applications) with existing systems and switching at the Land Based Test Sites and the AEGIS fleet. This item will be acquired utilizing the Simplified Acquisition procedures. The closing date is 9 May 2001. Anticipated award date is 16 May 2001. All items are to be priced FOB Destination Dahlgren, VA. Delivery shall be no later than 31 July 2001. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT ISSUE A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS AS ALL ITEMS ARE IDENTIFIED IN THIS COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY (CBD) NOTICE. The Government will award a purchase order from this combined synopsis/solicitation to Sabtech Industries.
