Description

The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area, has a project entitled Boiler Replacement at the National Animal Disease Center, Ames, IA, This project consists of demolishing and removal of two (2) existing 43,000 lb/hr boilers from the boiler plant building, installation of two (2) government furnished 800 hp boiler with burners and accessories in place of the existing boilers that are removed and installation of one (1) government furnished economizer with one of the new boilers. Work will include partial demolition of an existing piping and installation of the same, demolition of existing piping and installation of the same to the new boilers, installation of new stacks, controls, equipment pads for pads for a complete functional boiler system that is controlled by an existing building management system. The Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $100,000 to $250,000. The period of performance will be 120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP) (NTP estimated to be issued July 2001). A Bid Bond as well as Performance and Payment Bonds shall be required. The solicitation will be issued as Request for Proposal No. 5114-1-0004 and will be available on or about May 21, 2001, with proposals to be received not later than 2:00 p.m. (CST), June 22, 2001. The solicitation is issued pursuant to full and open competition and is unrestricted. National American Industrial Classification Code of 23331, with a corresponding size standard of $27.5 M.
