Description

The Social Security Administration is interested in receiving quotes on the following spare Siemens electrical circuit breakers to be used in Siemens electrical switchgear, brand-name only parts: (1) Siemens Model # RLF-800 circuit breaker, 6 (ea); (2) Siemens RL-3200 circuit breaker, 2 (ea); (3) Siemens RL-4000 circuit breaker, 2 (ea). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This acquisition is also subject to FAR Subpart 13.5 regarding the application of simplified acquisition procedures. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written request for quotation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is request for quotations (RFQ) number SSA-RFQ-01- 0217. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-24. The associated NAICS code is 335313; this is an unrestricted solicitation. Written quotations submitted in response to this notice shall be submitted by 3:00 PM, local prevailing time, on May 18, 2001 and shall be addressed to the Social Security Administration, Office of Acquisition and Grants Attention: Sharon Hall (telephone (410) 965-9534), 1710 Gwynn Oak Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21207; or faxed to (410) 966-9310. Quotations submitted in response to this notice shall be for ALL parts listed above; partial awards will not be made. Delivery of all items shall be made 30 days after receipt of order. The provision of FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items (OCT 2000) applies to this acquisition. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer comforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government based on quoted price for the brand-name parts listed above. Offerors must propose firm-fixed prices for all items. Offerors are required to include a completed and signed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial items (APR 2001) with their quotation. The clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items (MAR 2001) applies to this acquisition. The clause at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required To Implement Statutes or Executive orders-Commercial Items (FEB 2001) applies to this acquisition, especially: (b)(1), (b)(5), (b)(11), (b)(12), (b)(13), (b)(14), (b)(15), (b)(16), (b)(18), (b)(19)(i), (b)(21) and (b)(25).
