Description

This requirement is to provide technical support to an Architectural Engineering (A/E) firm, under separate government contract, in the form of consultation, on-site review of existing and active grenade load/assemble production facilities and technical consultation during the design of a virtual facility to load and assemble the M42/46/77 grenade. The virtual facility process will address conventional and insensitive explosive loading process/techniques (particularly PAX 2A), lead insertion and fuze staking processes, and all support utility, facility and equipment requirements relating to the load/ assemble of the grenade. Technical data in the form of technical data packages, process descriptions and equipment drawings will be made available to the A/E. The length of this effort is six months. The government intends to award this requirement, sole source to Day and Zimmerman Inc., Kansas Division on or about 14 May 2001 Note 22 applies.
