Description

Phase I of the solicitation is for the animal holding area. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, transportation, and supervision for the renovations to Building #20 at the Southern Plains Agricultural Research Center of the USDA, Agricultural Research Service, College Station, Texas. The work includes, but is not limited to: 1) Demolition and removal of existing plywood from walls, removing windows, overhead doors, plumbing device and lines, wood pens, wall ventilator fans, floor drains, electrical power devices, conduit, wiring, light fixtures. 2) Concrete work includes new 6" high concrete curbs for wall partitions, cast-in-place concrete toppings, concrete finish and curing. 3) Miscellaneous steel, anchors, patch existing metal wall panels. 4) Miscellaneous rough carpentry, FPR panels on walls and ceilings. 5) Wall and ceiling insulation, sealants and caulking, 6) New metal doors and frames, hardware, 6) Furring channels, metal studs, acoustical tile ceilings, gypsum board on walls and ceilings, seamless poured epoxy flooring and base. 7) Signage for ADA, fire extinguishers and brackets. 8) Plumbing includes, floor drain, wall hydrant, hose reel, shower, waste vent, domestic water, tempered water, roof drain, water piping, back-flow preventer, water heater, sump pump, water mains, gas mains and sewer mains. 9) Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning: Air conditioning units, furnaces, package units, refrigerant piping, insulation, ductwork, exhaust fans ceiling fans evaporative coolers, HEPA filters -- with rack controls, testing and balancing. 10) Electrical work includes electrical service, switchgear distribution and panels, feeder conduit, conductor, branch circuit conduit, electrical devices, starters and disconnects, timer and communications systems, and fire alarm system. All requests for solicitation package must reference to IFB #9-6202-01 and contact person name above. Estimated price range is $250,000 to $500,000. The period of performance is 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. The anticipated IFB issue date is May 15, 2001, with opening date 30 days later.
