- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to answer the following contractor questions. QUESTION 1. Are radio recorders desired? ANSWER 1. Radio recorders are not required, however, the contractor may quote these as an alternate item. QUESTION 2. How are STU III's to function? a) Direct Access = STU III goes off hook and is automatically connected to outside line (COor PBX) and incoming calls from outside automatically ring STU III without secondary dialing....or b) Network In/Out Dial = STU III goes off hook and hears local P2K dial tone. Dials 9 for outside line or extension number for P2K operators position and Incoming calls from outside line are connected to P2K dial tone (or announcement) and CO/PBX subscriber dials extension number or STU III or P2K operator position. ANSWER 2. The phone access will be standard non-secure phone through the switch to the operator. The switch should allow the operator to operate the switch as a phone to receive and dial out. Incoming and outgoing secure phone calls can also be answered or placed on the STU-III or STE because it is on a phone line splitter with the switch. STU-III access is direct into the local PSTN, there is no PBX, and no access number is required. QUESTION 3. We would like to receive a better description of the EHF SCAMP terminal and TRQ-43 SMRS base system that is listed in the solicitation. ANSWER 3. The SCAMP terminal will be secured with a KY-99 or equivalent and has a standard 6 pin military audio/data output/input. Audio and data interface from the 6 pin military connector through the switch are required. The same applies to the TRQ-43 base system. The requirement for the SCAMP (EHF single channel Satellite) and the TRQ-43 HF Base Station is simply audio from the transceiver to the switch. The government intends to use a "Y" cable which bypasses the switch and goes directly to a laptop computer for data. The date and time for submission of quotes is NOT extended.
