- Description
- This is a sources sought synopsis for written information only from small businesses. The North American Industry Classification System Numbers 51334 and 54133 apply. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs resulting from providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests. No telephone calls requesting a solicitation will be accepted or acknowledged. There is no solicitation available at this time. Responses shall not exceed 20 pages and standard company brochures are not desired. The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is performing a market survey to identify small businesses that can satisfy the MARCORSYSCOM requirement for the production of the Joint Enhanced Core Communication Systems (JECCS). JECCS will provide a "first-in" backbone communications connectivity to Defense Information Systems Network services in support of the Joint Task Force Enabler (JTFE) mission requirements. JECCS will provide a seamless transition to the Digital Technical Control (DTC) and Tactical Data Network (TDN) systems in support of larger follow-on forces. The system is housed in a S-788 shelter mounted on a Heavy HMMWV. It will serve as the initial communications and coordination node for the follow-on CJTF with capabilities such as NIPRNET, SIPRNET, GBS, VTC, UHF-TACSAT, INMARSAT-B, and DSN. The system fills an acquisition deficiency currently borne by the communication battalions through local procurements, in support of the JTFE mission. The JECCS has been thoroughly developed ant the desired system is well-defined. MARCORSYSCOM intends to award a indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) production contract to build systems very similar to the existing Engineering Development Models (EDMs). The JECCS Product Description (PD) is available for viewing on the MARCORSYSCOM website at www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq by clicking on "opportunities" and then "JECCS". It is requested that interested small businesses review the JECCS PD and provide questions and comments to the POC identified herein not later than May 14, 2001. Small businesses that can meet the criteria detailed in the PD are invited to submit, in writing, sufficient information with the page limitation (20 pages), which demonstrates their ability to fulfill this requirement. Responses shall include the vendor's business status (e.g. small, small dis-advantaged, minority-owned, 8(a), etc.) and should be mailed to the following address: COMMANDER, Marine Corps Systems Command, Code CTQ1DBM, 2033 Barnett Avenue, Suite 315, Quantico, Virginia, 22134-5010. The hand carry/courier address is: COMMANDER, Marine Corps Systems Command, Attention: Dwight B. Micheal, Sr., Code CTQ1DBM, 3041 McCawley, Avenue, Quantico, Virginia, 22134. Responses shall be submitted not later than May 14, 2001.
