NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for: Description -- Qty. 1. Standard Odyssey Mainframe -- 1 Acccomodates up to 4 acquistion 2. Memory Factory Upgrade -- 4 16 x 32 bit 72 pin sim 6 3. OD-100 Acquisition Card for -- 4 Standard Mainframe 400 MS Storage Per Channel 4. Accelerometer 4 Channel Amplifier -- 8 24 Khz Bandwidth 5. Master Control Software for PC -- 1 Controls, monitors and combines data from any number of Odyssey mainframes over Ethernet 6. Internal IRIG Card for Odyssey Mainframe -- 1 Provides precision timeclock for Odyssey. Accepts IRIG A, IRIG B, 2137 or NASA 36 Time Codes 7. Cable Kit -- 2 from Master Odyssey to Slave Odyssey for clock synochronization This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Nicolet Technologies, 5225-4 Verona Road, Madison, WI 53711. Nicolet is the sole provider of this system and software that will be used in conjuction with two existing Nicolet Odyssey units at NASA GRC, Organization 5940. THE AUTHORITY FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION AND A STATEMENT JUSTIFYING LACK OF COMPETITION is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on Friday, May 18, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
