Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: THIS SOLICITATION WILL BEING ISSUED AS 100% Small Business Set Aside. This project titled "Repairs and Upgrades to JP-8 Fueling System" is located at NAS Meridian, MS. The project consists of repairs and upgrades to the JP-8 fueling system. The work includes upgrades to the pump house and truck fill stands which involves replacing pumps and associated piping and mechanical equipment; electrical upgrades; truck overfill prevention and ground proving systems; fuel pipeline repairs including providing cathodic protection; concrete containment repairs; and all incidental related work. This work also includes the removal and disposal of lead based paint as necessary to perform the fuel system repair work. This work also includes the removal and disposal of asbestos gaskets. The maximum allowed completion schedule is 285 calendar days. The construction schedule requires that the existing facility remain in operation at all times. A modified synopsis will be issued at a later date to advise the date/time of a Pre-Proposal Conference/Site Visit. The Government intends to issue the RFP on the WEB only. The RFP is tentatively scheduled to be issued sometime in May 2001 with and RFP date in June/July 2001. The entire solicitation, including plans and specifications, will be available for viewing and downloading at http://esol.navfac.navy.mil. The official plan holders list will be maintained and can be printed from the website. AMENDMENTS will be posted on the web site for downloading. This will normally be the ONLY method of distributing amendments; therefore, IT IS THE OFFEROR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THE WEBSITE PERIODICALLY FOR ANY AMENDMENTS TO THIS SOLICITATION. Offerors must also be registered in the Contractor's Central Registration (CCR) in order to participate in this procurement.
