- This synopsis is being used as a tool to request information from industry's interested sources. This CBD announcement does not constitute a solicitation of proposal, nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. This announcement should not be construed as a commitment by the Government, authority to enter negotiations to award a contract, or reimburse any costs incurred in responding to this CBD announcement. Your participation in this market survey is strictly voluntary and is at no cost to the government. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. The intent of this CBD announcement is to obtain the following information on interested sources for a multiple award of an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity firm fixed price construction contract for the following areas: (1) Interest in the National Capital Region to include the commuting area within 60 miles of Washington DC (2) Interest in the Region to include the states of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and District of Columbia (3) Business size (Large/Small) It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued May 2001 and will include four options years to be exercised at the unilateral discretion of the Government. The firms selected will be ranked in accordance with specific selection criteria. Firms selected must have the skills for and may perform any or all of the following tasks are not limited to: stone/masonry restoration to include cleaning,repairing,repointing and conserving, installation of scaffolding, upgrading of exterior/interior lighting, installation of hydraulic oil containment systems, interior/exterior restoration of various historic structures, removal of vegetation from brick and stone walls, construction of retaining walls, repair of storm drainage systems, repair and reconstruct of wooden stairs and walkways, building of roads and parking lots. Site work to include demolition, site preparation, earthwork, paving, resurfacing, utility improvements and landscaping, concrete work, steel erection and fabrication, rough and finish carpentry, door and window work, architectural finish and specialty work, mechanical work to include plumbing and HVAC and electrical work. The scope of work for this contract will include all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, safety, management and other items necessary to fulfill the requirements of individual task orders issued by the Contracting Officer. Location of essential staff in the general geographical area of the projects and knowledge of locality of the projects is advantageous.
