- NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Custom Princeton Instruments PI-MAX 1024SB Digital ICC Camera per the specifications listed below: Princeton Instruments PI-MAX 1024SB Digital ICCD Camera System SPR # 1352E as described in the below specification. This camera shall be used in a MSFC optical diagnostic system for evaluating performance of rocket engines. The subject camera must be fully compatible with existing custom software at MSFC to drive other Roper Scientific equipment and instruments. ' The contractor shall customize Princeton Instruments PI-MAX 1024SB Digital ICCD Camera System SPR # 1352E, called hereafter the purchasing camera, including the below hardware specification: 7397-0018 Thermoelectrically cooled camera head Marconi 36-40 scientific grade 1, front-illuminated CCD, 1340 X 1300 pixels 1:1 fiber-optic bonded 25-mm grade 1, super-blue Gen II image intensifier 20 x 20 mm pixels (26.8 x 26mm image area) <7ns gating capable TTL gating input MCP bracket pulsing Sealed operation, no N2 purge required Camera head cable, 15' Acton Spectrometer Mount Adapter kit ST133A camera controller with dual 16 bit 100 KHz, 16 bit 1 MHz A/D converter Programming Timing Generator PC/PCI board with 25' cable, 15' head cable, and non-guaranteed 20' head cable for testing purposes. WinSpec32-9X PIMAX 4412-0048 Windows based spectroscopic software. The contractor shall deliver a demonstration digital camera equivalent to the purchasing camera to MSFC within two weeks from the date of receiving the purchase order. MSFC will return the demonstration camera to the contractor when MSFC receives the purchasing camera. MSFC shall not be liable for any failures of or damages to the demonstration camera. The contractor will send another demonstration camera to MSFC if any failures or damages occur on the existing demonstration camera. The contractor shall report to MSFC at the time of completing the purchase of all hardware prior to performing an assembly of the camera system. The contractor shall deliver the purchasing camera and all associated hardware peripherals and software within 120 days from the date of receiving the purchase order. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Roper Scientific in Trenton, NJ, pursuant to FAR 13.106 for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably available from only one source. In a market research no other vendors could be found to meet specifications. Roper Scientific camera system is compatible with custom software at Marshall Space Flight Center. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on May 21, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
