Description

"A Revolution in Military Affairs: Emerging Doctrine, Enabling Technologies" is the subject of a two-day unclassified symposium at the Hanscom AFB Officers' and Enlisted Clubs 16-17 May 2001. The Lexington-Concord Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics (AFCEA) and the Patriots' Roost Chapter of the Association of Old Crows (AOC) are organizing the event with the participation of the USAF Electronic Systems Center. The goal is to provide government and industry with the key issues facing our forces today with currently fielded stovepipe systems and to instill the need to posture ourselves to meet the changes in future operational requirements. The Symposium Chairperson is Brig Gen Robert Latiff, ESC Vice Commander. A highlight will be the keynote presentation by retired Admiral William Owens, former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and author of "Lifting the Fog of War." Topics will include Information Operations, Global Strike Task Force, and Use of Space. Presentations will be made by senior government official from the Command and Control, Space, R&D, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) communities.
