Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR Cryopumps for Fusion and Plasma Thruster Vacuum System. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to provide potential quoters with the questions received in regard to this solicitation and the answers thereto as follows: Question 1: In the description of the APD 22 crypoump system, a gas supply is requested with the system. Most common cryopump companies do not supply gas with the system. This will be required to be purchased separately. Answer to 1: A bulk gas supply is not required for this procurement. A gas supply pressure readout is required. Question 2: A pressure display is also requested. Where does the user want to measure pressure? In the chamber or in the cryopump itself. Answer to 2: As noted in the answer to question 1, the pressure readout is for the gas supply. The pressure readout should be on the supply side of the cooling loop to show when gas needs to be added to the system. If the compressor is already equipped with some way to know if there is enough gas, no further pressure readout is required. The chamber vacuum already has a pressure gauge. Regarding the questions and answers stated, this amendment corrects the specifications by changing "...gas supply, pressure readout,..." to "...gas supply pressure readout,...". All other specifications remain unchanged. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended, and remains at May 9, 2001, 4:30 pm CST. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on May 3, 2001.
