- Description
- This project involves clean up of 3,700 gallons of stored waste oil in large tankers. There are 93 each, 55-gallon barrels of waste oil that contains a total estimated quantity of 5,095 gallons of waste oil. There are 8 each, 35 gallon barrels of paint, total is 280 gallons. There are 56 each, 1-gallon cans of auto primer paint on pallet, total is 56 gallons. There are 7 each, 55 gallon barrels of oil (some military and Chevron containers), and total is 385 gallons. The area where the barrels are placed have leaked, measures approximately 37' in length, 57' in width, and oil penetrated to a 2' depth, total estimated quantity: 156 cubic yards. Total Waste Oil: 9, 180 gallons, Total Paint (no lead base): 336 gallons. Total Contaminated Soil: 156 cubic yards. Waste oil is stored in two holding tanks: (a) 5,000 gallon tank, half-full (est): 2,500 gallons (b) 2,350 gallon tank, half-full (est): 1,200 gallons, total 3,700 gallons. Barrels holding waste oil: (a) 79 each, 55 gallon barrels of used oil that are full (est): 4,345 gallons. (b) 10 each, 55 gallon barrels that the container is bulging: 550 gallons. (c) 8 each, 55 gallon barrels that are half-full: 200 gallons, total: 5,095 gallons (oil). Paint: (a) 6 each, 35 gallon barrels of liquid paint: 210 gallons. (b) 2 each, 35 gallon barrels with bulging ends: 70 gallons, total: 280 gallons. 56 each, 1 gallon cans of primer paint on pallet (old paint): 56 gallons. (a) 5 each, 55 gallon barrels of oil (military) in a trailer: 275 gallons, (b) 2 each, 55 gallon barrels of oil (chevron) in trailer: 110 gallons total: 385 gallons. After clean up is complete and all areas tested for completeness and receive clearance approval, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Colville Agency, will follow-up with Spill Prevention Control. The following equipment will be made available as part of this program to provide secondary containment and drain protection. The cost of these products will become part of the contract. (1) Catch Basin Insert for Sediment, (2) Holding Racks for Petroleum Products in 55 gallon barrels and have their own spill containment containers. (3) Special barrels (color coded), (4) Safety and Reminder Signing.
