Description
This is Amendment 1 to solicitation 9-BJ2-Z57-1-22Q, entitled, "Software Development", which was posted on May 4, 2001. The purpose of this solicitation is to: 1) Extend the Request for Proposal date to 4:30 pm central time, May 15, 2001. 2) To incorporate the the following questions and answers into the RFQ. Question 1: Is this a new project? Answer: No. This is the continuation of work that has been performed for the last couple of years. Question 2: If this is not a new project, who is the incumbent? Answer: NASA/JSC has been the lead software architect and developer. Several different vendors have helped throughout the development. Question 3: Are you looking for a someone to supplement the work or will the contractor be working alone? Answer: Supplement. Question 4: Is the contractor only working one week every two months? Answer: They should work 40 hrs. per week. But make a trip to JSC to work integration/development issues with the NASA Developer one week every two months. They need to be available for phone support as necessary. Question 5: Will NASA provide software tools? If not, what tools will be needed? Answer: No, NASA will not provide software tools. The Contractor is responsible for any commercial products that are necessary during development. NASA will only provide the software developed so far. We have been using commercial products developed by: TIBCO, Stingray, Microsoft, Global Majic, Rapid Imaging Software. NASA/JSC has a very good working relationship with all the companies, but the Contractor will still need to work out any licensing issues with the commercial companies themselves. NASA only has enough licenses to use on NASA development/deployment machines. Question 6: How many people contract personnel are you expecting to work on this project? Answer: Just the one hired by this contract. Documents related to this solicitation will be available over the Internet. These documents are in Microsoft Office 97 format and reside on a World Wide Web (www) server, which may be accessed using a www browser application.
