Description

The Army Telecommunications Directorate (ATD) has a requirement for nonpersonal services for local telephone exchange services for Fort Detrick, MD. The proposed contract is for a base year with four one-year options. The local exchange services provider, certified by the state of Maryland, shall provide local commercial communications service for Fort Detrick which shall include, as a minimum but not limited to, local access for commercial subscriber lines, local exchange digital (ISDN PRI) trunk, transport channels, data point-to-point circuits, directory number and number portability. All responsible sources may submit an offer that shall be considered. Sources responding to this requirement must indicate in writing, whether they are a large, small, disadvantaged and /or women-owned business. For this acquisition, a concern will be considered small under NAICS code 51331/51333 and SIC code 4813 with size standard of 1500 employees. This requirement shall be a commercial fixed price type contract. Solicitation is anticipated to be released on or about 9 May 2001. The Government will conduct a preproposal conference and site visit on 22 May 2001 at Fort Detrick, MD. The place is to be determined. The conference will be from 9:00-10:00 (approximately) and will be followed by a site visit from 10:00 12:00 noon. Offerors planning to attend are required to notify the specialist listed below, in writing, of all attendees' names (not to exceed three per company) prior to 11 May 2001. An e-mail response to the specialist listed below is acceptable. Questions received prior to the conference must be received before 15 May 2001. Questions generated as a result of the preproposal conference must be received before 1 June 2001. Written responses to offeror-generated questions will be provided to all Offerors.
