Description

This synopsis is issued as a notice of a proposed contract action. The U.S. Customs Service has a requirement for barcoding and presort services. These services are to include pickup and transportation to the contractor_s facility, and then to the U.S. Post Office. The location for pickup is the U.S. Customs Service, Newington Data Center (NDC), at 7681 Boston Boulevard, Springfield, Virginia. There is a four-hour pickup requirement. The contractor is required to pickup mail from the NDC within four (4) hours of receiving a request for pickup. The contractor must be available to pickup and process mail 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The mail consists of self-mailers and metered mail. There are approximately 6 million self-mailers mailed out annually. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 561431. The size standard is $5.0 million.
